Hello. This will be the full Turisas-disco, including everything.

I will start out of the top of my head, all contributions welcome (preferably by PM to keep the thread tidy). Seeing the confusion that arose in the "Varangian Way Paganfest Edition" thread, this seems like a good idea ^^

Note: I do NOT have the demos. I am looking for them so if the bandmembers want us to fill the "gaps" in tracklistings, pictures etc. they better leak them onto the internet

lol. I for one wouldn't mind that AT ALL...

Most of this info is taken from the Turisas website and/or Metal-Archives. As I am the one who added most Turisas-related notes (and the Köyliö page as a whole) on M-A, I do not feel guilty for this at all ^^.

From Turisas' website:
"Our first recording which was actually done under the early band name
Köyliö. Recorded live through a Roland 8-track mixer at our rehearsal room,
hand copied to C-cassettes and was given out just to a few friends. At this
stage we didn't have a bass player so there is no bass track at all on the
recording. Taiston Tie deals with the same Thirty Years War -theme as Rex Regi
Rebellis (Battle Metal, 2004) and was actually the first version of the idea,
even if these two songs are musically completely different. Rae (hailstone) was
named just before printing the covers, the earlier project-name
"Jää-kristalli-ihmemies-McGyver" sounded somewhat silly."

"Note: This two-song promo CD-R was recorded at our rehearsal room with a
Yamaha 16-track MD recorder in December 1999. It was sent only to two or three
places, the main purpose being to get gigs. We planned to record Terra
Tavestorum on our HoT-release in 2000 as well, but changed it to the Those Were
the Days cover just a few days before entering the studio, which turned out to
be a success. Terra Tavestorum was a good song too, but somewhat badly
arranged, so after taking Terra to pieces, we built up One More (Battle Metal,
2004) on the riffs originally from Terra Tavestorum."

This same recording of 'Terra Tavestorum' was used as an exclusive Japanese
bonus track for the CD 'Battle Metal'.

The track 'The Heart of Turisas' would be re-recorded for the band's 'Heart of
Turisas' EP and it would later on get a makeover and end up as 'Battle Metal'
on the album with the same name. This version, however, is different from the
EP version.

The song 'The Heart of Turisas' is an early/demo version of the song 'Battle
Metal' that would later appear on the album with the same name. An even earlier
version of this song can be hear on the band's 1999 promo.

This recording of 'Til The Last Man Falls' was also used as a bonus track on the Japanese edtion of "Battle Metal"

The record label 'SB Productions' wasn't a real label.

*: Mathias wrote on the forums in 2010: "Back when we were recording BM in 2003, we all of a sudden were told to come up with a bunch of bonuses for different purposes, for which there had been no time nor budget whatsoever. So we took a very old crappy rehearsal room tape from year god-knows-when and dubbed it "live" because it sounds so crap. (Mind you, it's still a live recording straight on C-cassette, but not in front of an audience) As far as I recall, it's even really hard to tell it's Midnight Sunrise at all. And even if it is, it would have been some sort of an early pre-version, most likely even without lyrics. That is the level of shiteness of this awesome bonus track!"

The band did apparently add fake crowd noise to the beginning and end of the track to make it sound more "live".

I will start out of the top of my head, all contributions welcome (preferably by PM to keep the thread tidy). Seeing the confusion that arose in the "Varangian Way Paganfest Edition" thread, this seems like a good idea ^^ NOTE: Use CTRL+F for fast jumping to whatever release you're interested in. ----- Note: I do NOT have the demos. I am looking for them so if the bandmembers want us to fill the "gaps" in tracklistings, pictures etc. they better leak them onto the internet lol. I for one wouldn't mind that AT ALL... Most of this info is taken from the Turisas website and/or Metal-Archives.
