Mathias's hair?

Does anyone know why he wets it before a show? I've been curious for awhile.

I always presumed it was to keep his body temperature down under the lights, because he wears so many layers on stage. All that fur and armour under full stagelights must get pretty warm.

I think in some interview he said it´s because otherwise his dry hair would get stuck to the lovely sticky warpaint on his face, and that´s why he wets it so it doesnt keep sticking to the paint.
