So I went to Chicago, and there, I drank some beer. They have this thing called 'Samuel Adams' (http://www.samueladams.com) of which there is a series of 'Seasonal Brews'. The back of a bottle reads:
FALL - Octoberfest, WINTER - Winter Lager, SUMMER - Summer Ale, SPRING - White Ale. Those are some pretty good suggestions, and also pretty WOODS OF YPRES if you ask me. + Good stuff! btw - I keep trying to tell myself to cut back a little, but it's just so delicious. Beer in general that is. DG - \w/ ![]() |

I usually just like to stick to my regular old moose head .Have you ever tried Wackens own brand of beer? My friend brought some back when he went this past Wacken and gave me a couple. Theyre pretty good. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3258/...004f69.jpg?v=0 |

My favourite beer is a local brew called Phillips Double Chocolate Porter. Its really dark, but goes down very smooth and has a nice chocolatey kind of burnt (for lack of a better word) aftertaste. On Halloween I had a Scottish beer called McEwen's and damn is that shit strong! I thought I was drinking rum for a second. Another beer I enjoy is Rickard's White (and the Red is no slouch either). Stella Artois is probably my favourite European beer, but to be honest I much prefer Canadian beer over European beer. Also, I'm not really a big beer drinker I'd pick a joint over a beer anyday.

A few days late but I just saw this thread...
I was in Frankfurt Germany this last Friday on my way back from Dubai and as soon as I got to the airport I had to have a Franziskaner weissbier. Sweet Oden, that's my favorite beer of all time, followed only by Hoegaarden from Belgium. ![]() Perhaps I shouldn't admit it was only 7am... ![]() Fuck it, it still ruled. ![]() Last edited by Descension : November 10th, 2008 at 12:33 AM. |

Bring back the beer thread!
I'm excited because I just did a case exchange with a bunch of coworkers. Everyone signed up for a different beer and traded up until everyone had one of each. People brought some great stuff. I'm most excited for:
Troegs Mad Elf: ![]() and Anderson Valley Winter Solstice. No pic, but they say "Luscious, creamy, smooth, and warming, this medium bodied ale is brewed with Caramel and crystal malts to give it just a hint of sweetness, then paired with our private blend of holiday spice." Can't wait to get out of work tonight and crack some open. |

Usually just drinking cheap local beer, as imported beer is fucking expensive. An Urquell or Heineken, etc., 0.33L costs over $3. So, if it's only to get hammered, I usually down a dozen of 'Krudtugler' which cost 50 cent...

In the past couple days we tried a few beers from the case trade at my work. My husband drinks all the IPAs because I'm not really into it. I'm working my way from light to dark. So far what has stood out to me was:
Leffe A great blonde Abbey style, clean, fruity and a little dry. ![]() And my own contribution, Magic Hat's Circus Boy. I will admit, I should have saved it for the summer case exchange. This Hefeweisen was like summer in a glass. ![]() But last night at the bar we were drinking this classy $1.50 tall boy shit ![]() |

Nice Thread!!
I just got back from Thailand, Singapore and Bali and the beer there was soo refreshing. My beers of choice while sitting in the sun listening to Woods of Ypres were: ![]() ![]() By the way Dave, if you see this, while in Thailand waiting for my brother to finish his massage and drinking a nice Chang beer, I was sitting with a few Thai dudes and played a few riffs from Woods4 and they were freaking out begging me to send it to their phone!!! Couldn't send music from an iPhone to Blackberry, but they fuckin loved it!!! Also, in Bali, my brother met a girl there and we were drinking and she loves metal, showed her a couple Woods songs and she was absolutely freaking out loving it too!! Fuckin right, who couldn't love the new Woods? I think i retract saying the Eleventh He Reaches London was my favourite last year because I love the new Woods album more than anything I've heard in years!!! A true masterpiece and can't wait for the next!!!! |
