Trivium-Ascendacy(Ltd edition w/dvd)

After listening to my poor copied version of 'Ascendacy' i finally went out and bought the damn thing.
After not being able to properly hear it i finally could with the 'proper' version. Anyway, it starts off with a slow acoustic song called 'end of everything' Its cool but it seems a bit too like the way Devildrivers 'The fury of our makers hands' and BFMV's 'The poisen' started off although the quality of the music is much better.
The 2nd song 'Rain' is much better, with solid riffing and awesome double pedal drumming.
'Pull harder on.....' is again awesome with a awesome breakdown.
As im a lazy bastard iv decided not to go through every song and analyse it so ill point out the highpoints for me: 'Gunshot to the head of tripedation' is possibly the best song on this album. The whole song is just amazingly good. Its hard to believe the band were still in their teens writing this.
'Like light to flys' is heavy and rocks like a bastard. Also the two i mentioned above(Rain and Pull harder on the strings of your martyr')are among the best.
On a whole its an awesome album full of modern melodic type metal riffs and old school dual leads with even the weakest song on it ('Dying in your arms' maybe?) being good.
Oh and since this is a special edition you get a prev. unreleased song called'washing me away with the tides' which again is pretty cool.
You also get the dvd which has all the bands videos on it plus a new one for 'rain' and has 5 songs being performed at the astoria in london.
Basicly what im trying to say is [size="5"]Buy it![size="1"]
Dont let their sudden jump to sucess put you off this great metal album. Its the master of puppets of the 00s.Dont give me 'Their not underground enough' shit cos this album, regardess of their fame rocks.Anyway, thats my review.Hope it helps and remember THIS IS MY OPPINION ON THE ALBUM.SO DONT REPLY BITCHIN' BOUT WHAT I HAVE SAID!!!!!!!!! Later people (9/10)

Trivium are great musicians but they are nothing short of a replica, modelled on everything that has come before them. My friend bought the album and was playing it to me, there is a part of a song (don't know which) that is EXACTLY the same as part of "December Flower" by In Flames.

All their riffs just sound unoriginal and with the audacity to rip off part of an In Flames song, the band didn't earn my ears for the rest of the album. Good players, but there is nothing unique about the band. The vocals are monotonous as fuck and that guy just pisses me off in general.

I'm not digging at your opinion by any means, just giving mine.
