In the beginning Arthemis started out as a cover band doing Megadeth, Sacred Reich Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Helloween tunes. This of course led to writing their own music. Showing an incredible capacity in song writing, they mixed their thrash-metal roots with the melody of classical music of the power metal style.

Coming from Italy, Arthemis have been a solid band for the Underground Symphony label for quite some time. The band released their first album, "The Damned Ship", for the record company in 2001. The band then followed in 2003 with "Golden Dawn" and in mid-2005 the band re-recorded their underground debut "Church Of The Holy Ghost", following in the footsteps of bands like Edguy and Dungeon, who have both gained popularity by bringing back the past in a quest to further their own career. Now the group have unleashed their brand new album, "Back From The Heat", a smooth, polished venture into the realms of fast, melodic power metal.

Fans of Helloween, Symphorce, and HammerFall should find plenty to enjoy here. Laden with quality traditional metal and plenty of speed and catchy hooks thrown in. At times sounding like a faster version of Dream Evil with a firm foundation in hard rock hooks, blazing leads, and serving up some high speed, heavy numbers that are sure to please any power metal connoisseur.

Songs such as "The Vampire Strikes Again" and "Desert Storm" are hell blazers, offering up speedy affairs and amazing lead work. A flavor AOR and hard rock sounds can be heard on the melodic cuts like "Free Spirit" and "Star Wars". The group even take time to show their chops on some more emotional, slower paced songs like "Touch The Sky" and "Ocean's Call". Obvious highlights are "Rising From The Ashes" and "Here Comes The Fury".

The music gets its heaviness from its speed and aggressiveness. Paolo Perazzani's drumming and Matteo Galbier's bass set the pace for aggressive guitar power-chording laid down by Andrea Martongelli and Matteo Ballottari. You'll find the rhythm/solo sections have the kind of punch and aggressiveness similar to Dave Mustaine/Marty Friedman from Megadeth.

Arthemis' intensity is definitely undeniable. "Back from the Heat" is a notable addition to their discography. Having proved themselves as a band that can deliver high-energy riffs, memorable melodies, powerful drumming, intricate and interesting guitar solos, and a positive metal spirit. Give this CD a spin and be ready to Rock again and again!!!
