    Top 50 albums of 2022

Every year your list gets more and more eclectic. I used to look at your list and be able to say I own 30-35 of them. Now it’s like 10 of them and 30 of the others I have never ever heard of. In saying that, The Halo Effect disc is firmly in my top 10, which was a total surprise, Evergrey is...

    2020 Best of list...

2020 best of metal Haken - Virus: This was by far the most interesting album of the year for me. It was also Hakens most focused album. It was also their heaviest. This band has grown into a monster. Henshall is a great guitarist ala Petrucci of Govan Guthrie. This one was a hard decision...

    Scardust - Strangers

Very good album. But I have to be in the mood for it, due to the heavy orchestration running throughout. Also, there is a musical theme running throughout following the topic of "Strangers", say, similar to Neal Morse "Similitude...". A theme not similar sounding, but based on similar melodies...

FATES WARNING: Long Day Good Night

I've listened to the new album about 10 times. Some of it just doesn't resonate with me. Some of the experimenting with sounds just goes a little bit too far for me. I never wanted Jazz Warning, yet I get about 6 minutes of it. It's interesting from a musicians standpoint, but its not Fates...

SOUL DOUBT: The Dance of Light And Shade

This was in my top 5 for last year. it might have been top #3! I can't remember how high it ranks though I know it was definitely up there! Just an amazing double disc of goodness.

    PAIN OF SALVATION: Panther

Fanboy here. Definitely not your typical fare. Still, the depth that this cd has is something to behold. It goes into my top 10 list as of now

    Scardust - Strangers

The debut disc was mind blowingly unexpected. I guess based on where they're from, I didn't expect it to grab me. The new disc is a day 1 purchase.

THE PROGRESSIVE SOULS COLLECTIVE: Sonic Birth, ft ex-DREAM THEATER, ANGRA members

This definitely makes my top of 2020 lists. Somewhere up towards the top of the list.

Every Pain of Salvation disc has certain redeeming qualities that make me return to them, but Remedy Lane was where everything just...

    AVANTASIA: Moonglow

The sad thing is, Geoff Tate still, sounds good when the material he is singing is well written metal. I wish he would get back to it, because his voice on Avantasia has been solid
