My yearly rant concerning no East Coast show...

I've been thinking. I won't ask this question again. Where it USED to be important to me, it has now since become unimportant... Like I said, I have boots of Enchant in EUROPE. 'Nuff said.

My yearly rant concerning no East Coast show...

Ed, I've been a member here for close to 6 years. I have asked almost every year since. I have boots from the 90s from Enchant in EUROPE. Now I don't have all the specifics, naturally, but, are you telling me that it costs LESS to play a date in EUROPE than your own country? I'm not...

My yearly rant concerning no East Coast show...

I'm seriously doubting if I'll ever see the band live.... Have there been any discussions within the band about playing out east? :erk:

    Dreams

I always have these dreams in which there is 'something' inherently wrong in the dream, however, I do not realize(recognize) it until I wake and reflect on the dream. For instance, in one dream I was on a train, but it had triangles for wheels. And I explicitly remember looking at the wheels...

    Self-defeating arguments...

Actually, it could. From what I was able to glean from your passage, if someone told me to get them the milk from the fridge, I could do that. When something is given a name, it is given a 'tag', or a simple word that when it is heard makes the mind bring up a picture of the item; this time...

    Use of Melody in Metal

Hi....Well, first I must admit to NOT being a fan of this kind of music: Black, death metal. I not only don't understand it. And this isn't a knock on fans of this style, I just don't 'get it'. BUT, I've read enough about it, and heard a few songs - and coulped with your narrative above would...

    The Divine Command Theory

Now if we pick the second statement as true, we run into another set of pitfalls.... If we take this option, God's commands turn out to be not arbitrary. They result in him knowing what is best. And the concept of the goodness of God is sustained. To say that his commands are good means...

    The Divine Command Theory

The fact remains that when asked the question I have posed in the first post, that only one of the choices can be picked. If you pick the first, you are bound to it's consequences. If you pick the second, the same follows. There are pratfalls with both examples..... Either god says...

    The Divine Command Theory

Actually, it is not a tautology. A tautology is a statement in which the conclusion is an equivalent to the premise.....this is not the case in my query. They are TWO seperate statements. Either something is right because God says so(God commands it is right from his sheer will), OR God says...

    The Divine Command Theory

I'm atheist as well...but I don't think this is a shitty refutation of theism, as you claim.... Suppose 'God' commanded us to be faithful to a spouse. And in this case, the reason we should be faithful is simply that 'God' required it. Apart from the divine command, being faithful is neither...

    The Divine Command Theory

In reality, it can't be both. If you pick the latter, you are admitting that there is a standard of right and wrong that is independent of God's will. If you pick the former, than God's commands are arbitrary.
