    Agalloch

Haughm posted some additional details. Still sounds bleak, but there's a sliver of hope that he continues on with new members: After being inundated by a barrage of responses, I feel that I should clarify some things. I take full responsibility for the decision to part ways with the other...

Are we all going to pretend this never happened?

The song's fine enough. Video is pretty awful. Worldchanger is my favorite of his solo works, but I more or less stopped paying attention after The Duke.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO EXPOSE ZANE (CDINZANE)

Seems like Zane has had a memory lapse and forgotten the ill will and bridges burned in 2010 with MelodicRock.com and the folks over there from ownership on down to the fans. His screed here is comparable in tone to those he's unleashed on numerous others. It is not too difficult to use the...

    Listening differently...

Actually, that's not entirely true, especially if you're limiting your consumption to X albums in a given time. It requires a tad more effort on your part, but the Universal Scrobbler is pretty fantastic for situations not covered by phones and PCs.

John Wesley - great hard rock from Porcupine Tree touring guitarist

Kinda partial to Shiver as it was the first of his albums that I heard; however, there's not a bad album in the bunch.

Best way to rip DVD content to computer?

Excellent choice, and very easy to use.

    Melodic Rock Fest 3

7th Heaven is pretty much the Chicago connection. From what I understand, they (Rich Hofherr) helped Andrew scout the area for venues and whatnot.

Sound of Contact - Dimensionaut, mandatory 'modern' prog

This will probably be one of my favorite albums of this year when all is said and done.

    Now Reading...

Picked this up yesterday and am about halfway through (300+ pages). If this holds up for the duration, he's 3 for 3 with me.

    Katatonia's "Dead End Kings"

The Great Cold Distance, Night is the New Day, and Dead End Kingsmake quite the trifecta.

    Be'lakor - Aussie Opeth worship

Really doesn't get much better than Still Life...

    Paganfest 2012

Wouldn't object to seeing Primordial over here again. Couple of the others would be interesting, too.

US tour with Katatonia and Swallow The Sun!!!

Caught the Chicago show last Friday and was once again blown away by what an amazing band Orphaned Land are and how they almost effortlessly energize the crowd. I had heard they were swapping spots with Swallow the Sun, so they went on before Katatonia, which proved to be a very nice, much...

    Chicago Peeps - Orphaned Land

Can't freakin' wait for this show... mostly because it's been on my calendar for quite some time now, but also because it'll be a fine way to end an otherwise annoying week.

    Volbeat - Beyond Hell/Above Heaven

Been through this one four or five times in the last few days. Mille and Barney appearing threw me for a loop at first because I'd forgotten they were guesting, but I like both tracks and find this to be yet another winner from Volbeat. Not sure if it'll get the insane attention from me that...

    $7.99 new Blind Guardian mp3

Good to know they're outdated, which means there's hope. Because not having all of your Novembers Doom CDs signed by every member of the band would seriously make me questions your fanboyism.

Leprous (and Zero Hour) Blowout Sale!

No kidding... I mean, never mind that they're the first two items listed on the index page under "Hot Progressive and Power Metal", which is no more than halfway down the page. And never mind that there's one of them there newfangled search fields right at the top of the homepage. Clearly it...

Kattah - Prog/Power metal with a bit of ethnic influences

What, no backing vocals from Vinnie Barbarino and the Sweathogs?

"Heavy" power metal: A dying breed....

Damn... I haven't heard that song in a long, long time. Gonna have to dig out that CD and Skold's solo album and given them a spin.

Coheed and Cambria's Album 'Year of the Black Rainbow' on Amazon for $5

I've played the hell out of this album for the last month sand a half. Definitely worth picking up, and at five bucks it's a veritable steal.
