I've used Native Instruments Massive to re-create the feedback'y intro and the following pad from The Valley (see MP3 for demo).
The intro synth lives from some distortion, a screaming filter (depends on the filter. Korg MS-20 can squeal like a pig and Massive's Scream filter in combination with...
There are different types of "boosting" that work for me besides going straight into the amp. Which one works depends on a lot of things for me, possibly including some irrational ones (like day-of-week...). That said, it's good to have some options.
My options are:
Straight into the amp. Most...
I have tested the global master volume (right of the Solo master), not the per-channel master on my 3ch DR.
To be honest, I just recently found out that the channel master has quite an influence on the tone as well (similar to what the global master does). This is very inconvenient, given that...
I did a similar test with my Palmer PDI-03 load box without speakers. I kranked the master on my Dual Rec and Bugera 6260 to hear how the tone changes. With both, the midrange got boosted and the presence got reduced when going up. It got muddier, less crisp, attack got rounded.
I liked it best...
My main guitar is a Charvel 750XL since the 1990's. Then I've bought a SoCal Pro Mod last year which is very similar to the San Dimas in ProgressiveRoccos video, but with a more "standard" control layout.
As much as I like the fantastic neck and the look of the guitar, I find the sound to be...
It were great if you found the time to check if the channels 9-24 appear as accessible channels in your DAW. No need to actually attach converters to the ADAT ports, I guess.
@nezvers: Are all of the 26 in- and outputs accessable under Windows 10?
I have 2xADA8000's on my Profire 2626 currently and have heard that someone could only access 16 i/o.
Am I the only one who's getting CPU spikes (leading to an error) in Pro Tools 12 whenever I am using any of the buttons or selectors in Thermionik 5? Turning the dials is fine, but as soon as I change the channel, or click"bright" etc. the CPU meter goes up to the roof and Pro Tools stops with...
It's always $99 (or cheaper, like $69 on a sale). If you have VCC, it doesn't bring anything new to the table. I am personally using both VCC and NLS less and less.
I have an old and pretty rare US Fender Contemporary Stratocaster from the early 1990's, which I've bought in an impulse buy on a vacation in the US. It looks great, but it sounds dead and hollow played unamplified, similar to what you're describing about your Ibanez. This basic character...
For high gain, I like the Rectifier and Bogner Red (Ecstasy) models. The Recto likes the Green JRC Overdrive in front.
I could match my real Dual Rec with Eleven's model almost completely. For this, I've used a self shot IR of my own Mesa 4x12 cabinet, though.
Regarding the built-in cabinets...
I haven't anticipated to find a photography thread on this forum. Cool.
Here are some landscape shots I did on a weekend trip just recently. The place is called "Devil's Swamp"...

I just recently switched to Avid Eleven (Mk2). It's the most natural sounding and feels most real to me when playing. Sits far better in a mix than everything else I've tried (AT3, S-Gear, Guitar Rig, all kind of POD's and Podfarm, Revalver, ...).
This is a good start (from Twitter's hashtag #ParisAttacks):
"My name is Skender,
I'm Muslim,
My religion is Islam,
I'm not a terrorist,
I want peace."
"My Name is Alhusain.
I'm a Proud Muslim.
And I'm not a terrorist.
I believe in peace as
my religion taught me !!!"
"My name is...
Most important is that they are OK, phew...
It feels so close...
PS: I've just read that one of the terrorists had a ticket to the game and probably wanted to get in, but couldn't.
