I actually love it. I think it smoothes out the high end, and it makes my tones pretty much exactly what I wish/hoped they would be. I cannot stand fizzy, harsh, spikey high end, and this makes it so much smoother to me. Horses for courses I guess.
Whats up guys?! It is my pleasure to introduce to you my first set of profiles available now. The profiles include a 5150 III through a Framus Cobra 4x12 (Celestion Greenbacks) and a Mesa M6 Carbine through a Mesa Powerhouse 4x10. Both profiles include clean and boosted profiles by a Keeley...
Hey guys, real curious to hear what you think of these. I spent a couple of days profiling my rig, and I feel like I got some pretty nice profiles here. We are all different, and it will ultimately come down to taste, but I've got about 80 profiles in total. Feel free to try out a few here and...
It's all about personal preference. I much prefer the snares from metal machinery, but I'm not a huge fan of the cymbals from Metal Foundry. There are some good ones, but I feel like there are alot of weird overtones, and resonances with that pack as well. I know you said you've moved on from...
I know what you mean on the weird cymbal resonances. I try to find the cymbals with the least displeasing resonances/overtones, and then notch them out. On the snares I use a multiband around the low mids, and it seems to help the snares cut through the mix better, and get rid of muddiness.
This is pure MM, obviously lots of processing on the tracks. But there is great potential throughout. I have Metal Foundry as well, and I very much so prefer Metal Machine.
This is my go to kit right now. I love one hi hat, the cymbals are pretty good although a couple of have some weird over tones. The snares are awesome! The toms are good not great to me. The kick is one of my favorites from Toontrack but I'm not a huge fan of how their kicks sound. I've got...
Thanks for all the comments guys. I don't know much about bass pickups, and am surprised at how many models there are per brand. I am looking for a really smooth low end a nice growl. It gets a bit tough as I have found a low end that sits really well with most of my mixes through Trillian...
Awesome! I really appreciate your reply. Would you go with EMG pickups? Or is there a better alternative these days? I guess I will say that I do do some songwriting for hire, which isn't always metal, and so I don't know if some alternative pickups would give the bass a bit more tonal...
