Ok some of you may get into these bands and albums.

Anberlin - The vocals are a bit emo and I prefer a more manly vocal but the songs are cool and catchy. Interesting video which I don't really understand.

Mindslip - Rising Up. Like this album a lot. Heavy and melodic with more powerful clean vocals.

Seven Year Riot - heavy riffed up modern rock with a hint of glam in the lyrics especially as you will hear in this song! Like Hinder pretty much.

Signum A.D. - Pretty cool modern rock. Nice vocals in this one. Good power and decent melodies.

Something to Burn - Transitions. This band is quite cool but look a bit too emo goth for me. The singer especially but his voice is actually really good especially in the chorus when he sounds more full and melodic. The song has a really good chorus. The video is typical stupidness and has a hottish emo chick in it. I suppose they should get some marks for that. Marks off for the stupid kiss at the end though!

This is one of their other songs.

Bleeker Ridge - This one is great stuff. Reminds me of a younger version of my faves Alter Bridge both vocally and musically. Great melody in the vocals and strong music.

Another great tune with a huge chorus again pretty close to Alter Bridge.

Default - Comes and Goes. Strong melodic modern rock with great crystal clear vocals.

Skillet - Hero. Ok these guys are quite a famous band much more than the ones above. They are very good though and both the male and female(and she drums!) singers are very good.

There is an Anberlin CD called Never Take Friendship Personal that is a good album. They are kinda watered down now. I don't listen to this type of music much anymore. All the bands were great until they got popular and then changed their sound.

So no one liked any of these bands then? If you try one I recommend the Bleeker Ridge album as it rules badly. You should give it a chance if you like Alter Bridge or heavy and melodic bands. Even the ballads are great too. I guess I'm trying a bit too hard though with this style of music.

Modern alt. rock doesn't really do anything for me. But as far as rock that's been released in the last 5-6 years, there isn't -much- that really gets me goin, but there are some pretty big exceptions:

There are a few exceptions though; there's the Protomen, but they don't really sound modern:

Some stuff that's generally classified as post-rock, like Grails:

I -really- dig the Giraffes:

Plus you have to give props to a lead singer who thinks it's a good idea to make a music video out of footage of himself getting the shit knocked out of him by a guy twice his size.

King Hobo:

I also enjoy the hell out of Spiritual Beggar's earlier stuff; however their more recent offerings really don't do anything for me either.
