    Hails!

ÆRA's new album "The Craving Within" is OUT NOW at Aeternitas Tenebrarum!

"We pay tribute to the powers of this world, the people who were here before us and their lives, values and teachings." This is how Æra have defined themselves and "The Craving Within" represents this proclamation with absolute might and conviction.

Ulf Niklas Kveldulfsson and Stein Akslen have conjured 6 hymns to Nature, old rites and especially, to a glorious past that speaks to his sons in this day and age, where the innermost instincts and spiritual links to mankind's primordial cradle have been largely forgotten.

Written and recorded at the coldest regions of the planet, "The Craving Within" takes the strength of the mountains, the purity of pristine lakes, the majesty of perennial forests and the ferocity of the relentless beating of rain and snow as vital elements to unleash the forces of nature and brave men of old upon us.

First reviews are coming out, there are some very flattering words for our work!!!

"The Craving Within is an album to be released on January 25, by independent Italian record label Aeternitas Tenebrarum. Scandinavian black metal act Aera’s most recent work, this record is concise, having only six tracks: Skaldens Død, Frost Within, Rite of Odin, Profetien, Join Me Tomorrow and Norrøn Magi. With a furious, belligerent and malevolent, but brightly, sensible and impeccably sculpted musical atmosphere, with severely distinct and melodious passages, the sonorous gravity of the duo – Stein Akslen and Ulf Kveldulfsson – is objectively sinister and dark, sometimes almost epic, black metal, consecrated with the most excellent and pungent elements the Nordic style has to offer"

The album is out and reviews keep coming.

"Over the years, black metal has evolved away from its roots and there are now endless sub-black metal genres, many bearing little resemblance to the original forefathers of the notorious genre. However, Scandinavian duo Æra have achieved that difficult balance, sounding contemporary while upholding the traditional values and roots of the genre.

The maturity shown on their debut full length belies the fact that they have only been going since 2017 as the opening track ‘Skaldens Død’ blasts straight into a caustic black metal assault where abrasive vocals sit atop an uncompromising barrage of blast beats and ice cold riffs before underlying melody temporarily achieves prominence, soaring majestically above the ferocious chaos"
