Mer de Noms is a good album but overall I can never shake the feeling that it's just Tool lite. Thirteenth Step was an okay album at best (and that 'The Nurse Who Loved Me' cover is terrible). I haven't heard the new album with covers yet mostly because I think the whole idea behind a cover album is stupid to begin with. Overall I'd rather see Maynard focus on a new Tool album than waste his time with this band anymore. The first album was good but they should have just left it at that.
I personally really love Mer De Noms. Has a nice atmosphere and the music is great. 13th step I'm not such a fan of.. but it has some okay stuff on it. It's not really Tool lite either.. the bands aren't much alike at all.
I had the cd thiteenth step for a while and didnt really give it a chance untill about three weeks ago. My buddy played the song "blue" a few times and i couldnt get it out of my head. After that ive been listening to it nonstop. Its solid all the way through. Im not so happy with their cd of covers, Emotive, though. The remix to "Judith" has to be one of the greatest remix, i've heard. Then again, i dont like remixes in general.
I like Tool a lot better, PC's last cd sucked big fat dick, infact I dont really like any of their cds, I owned Mer de Noms, got really boring fast IMO.
They made a John Lenon cover which was pretty cool, but for the most part, they're too modern and annoying
never even heard of them.. just a thought but maybe the topics could be more metal oriented and less 'particular' band oriented?.. like ";Explain the genre in the topic shortly, in the post explain "the perfect circle" and than wait for opinions" - thus allowing the thread to be free and not one sided but still containing your quaere regarding "A perfect circle".
