I just heard Our Fortress Is Burning... II - Bloodbirds off Ashes Against The Grain and I must say that it sounds very good.

Which of Agalloch's albums is recommended?

Any you can find!! Pale Folklore, The Mantle, and Ashes Against the Grain are relatively easy to find. The White EP...good luck! I'm actually in search of a copy of Of Stone, Wind, and Pillar, if you know something...:saint:

Of Stone$, Wind, and Pillor is more or less impossible to get.

I would strongly recommend starting with The Mantle. It is the one that got me into Agalloch and continues to be my favorite. Of course, I agree with serenitynow, you really can't go wrong with any of their music.

Check out the following song (two parts). "in the shadow of our pale companion" is, IMHO, the best song off of the Mantle, and the one that got me hooked on Agalloch.

Since The Mantle is one of the greatest albums to ever be recorded, I would recommend it highly. But, you can't go wrong with any of them.

I dare everyone to find a "bad" Agalloch song. I love them even more than Opeth (sorry Mike).

actually they made a bad song imo. cant stand the last track on aatg, which is a shame cause the rest of the album is pretty much perfection.

I recommend you not post unless you have something useful to contribute.

Just got the entire discography recently and started listening to AATG (I saw the video for Not Unlike the Waves, so I thought it was an apt place to start).

I bet "Frodo's Bulk" is an intentional troll and it's not funny.
