I know the year isn't over, but I think I've pretty much decided on "Damage Done" as my album of the year. New Bloodbath is excellent, and a good runner up. I can't think of any other releases due out in the next two months that will compare to "D. Done". Anyone know theirs as of yet?

This forum is pretty open-minded, and there are few whiners. I'm sure not many will agree with you, but you won't get flamed either.

A few contenders for the throne:

    Damage Done
Immortal - Sons of northern darkness
    Agalloch - The mantle
Amon Amarth - Versus the world
    Behemoth - Zos Kia Cultos
    Opeth - Deliverance

    Agalloch - The Mantle
    Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors

These two are at the top of my list for 2002. Damage Done might end up in the third place, I am not sure yet. I still need to hear a few albums from this year.

I also vote The Sham Mirrors (in addition to DD, of course).

I think the Opeth is the best of this year. Damage Done, Versus the World, among others are also up there. RtR is by far not the best album of 2002.

Yep, I would dare say The Crowns latest closeley follows DD up...the production is simply fucking great on CiT.

    Satyricon - Volcano

To me not even DD can touch this one, not by a long shot.
