Rhed Asphalt - Are They a Threat?

70s style semi-metal/fantasy rock, from 1990. Sounds very legit despite the date of recording.

Prioritize it immediately. Easily one of the top-tier doom releases of the last several years. Might even prefer it over the stellar debut.

Personally I much prefer it over the debut, not to take anything away from the debut though.
This one just hits my sweet spot.

    Not bad!
Don't know why the fuck Metal-Archives has them listed as Doom/Stoner/Sludge though, almost put me off giving it a try.

I've read some great things about that Khemmis album! The Christian Mistress album should be waiting for me at home by now,I was a little disappointed with what came after Agony and Opium but I reckon the new one will still be great!
Listening to Maniac Butcher 'Barbarians' at work, man I love this album,I love how cranky they sound but still manage some righteous riffage.

That Convent Guilt album is awesome. Good call. Haven't heard of this Khemmis band, though.

They're basically a Pallbearer clone that sing about fantasy lite themes.

They sound much heavier than Pallbearer to me.

I thought Pallbearer wasn't cool to talk about ever since the second album got NPR coverage.

No, it's the main publicly funded media org in the US. Dodens grav writes for them, last I heard.
