It's about favorites. I would like to see Alexi there, but I must say I've never seen a list as solid as this. All those musicians are great. Almost all my favorites are there. No Kurt Cobain, Jack White, no bullshit.
Yeah, because when you like a guitarist, or an artist, it's because he can (AND DOES!) play faster than the others. Tho, no Buckethead?
No Billie Joe Armstrong??!?!?1+? WTF Nah seriously, this list looks good to me. The top 10 dudes are all legendary and I wouldn't have it any other way. The reason Alexi isn't listed is probably because he hasn't been around for that long, but in a few years I bet he'll be pretty high up. And just as the dude above said, this is favorite guitarists so the "he's better than him" bullshit is just pointless.
No one takes these "All Time" list seriously. Jimi Hendrix will always be #1, whether we like it or not
Well, on this list it looks like actual guitarplayers and bandmembers voted and not a bunch of so called "experts" of some bullshit magazine.
Whoo, Jeff Loomis is listed, as well as Jason Becker! The problem with these lists is that there are so many great guitarists and it is all subjective. Tony Iommi isn't the greatest guitarist but he is one of the most INFLUENTIAL. There is a difference and that is where the list gets fuck up.
Alexi Laiho voted. I wonder whom he picked. Jeff Loomis and Jason Backer also voted. It's a pretty solid list, IMHO. By the way, James Hetfield is above Hammett in my book.
