So there I was, balls deep in a line to get some cherry coke before the next showing of the Aqua Teen movie and my younger brother goes "Oh look, I thought Mr. Fuji had died" So I glance over to my right and I see an old ass Asian guy taking the tickets. Hes gray, and sitting in a chair with his cane. I immediately look at my brother and say "you racist bastard." I then say, you mean Mr. Miyagi. He is insistent on Mr. Fuji. So we walk up to get our tickets torn, the poor old man can barely speak or move, and I notice his name tag says Mr.Fuji! I was amazed, what a coincidence that on some random name my brother uses to stereotype this guy...happens to be his name. So I explain my amazement, but then my bro says "he was a WWF guy."

So then I am thinking, why the hell is a ex WWF guy taking movie tickets at the Knoxville Regal Cinemas 10? Well, this was the guy there:

Same cane, gray hair. I didnt believe it until I used the internets.
From WWF to ticket taker :erk:

Of course I remeber Mr. Fuji.

That's weird because he was just inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame a few weeks ago before Wrestlemania.

Ah yes, Harry Fujiwara. Without a doubt, my most favourite WWF manager. I particularly liked his tuxedo he wore in the 1980s, looking much like the hat-throwing assassin in "Goldfinger."

Back in the 1980s, Mr. Fuji lived a few towns away from us, and we saw him once or twice at the store. At least, my brother always insisted, "Hey, that Jap over there is Mr. Fuji!" and in my 9-year old ignorance, I'd say, "That's not him. Where's his suit?"

So he retired to Tennessee, where he now sells movie tickets? oh well, I suppose Social Security doesn't pay much, does it? And what about Vince McMahon? Didn't that bastard have a pension plan or 401k for his people??

    No way!

    Mr. Fuji tore yer ticket?

And HOT FUZZ is better than SHAUN OF THE DEAD?

I loved "Shaun of the Dead."

So I ought to go see "Hot Fuzz."

    Only one problem.

My local theatre doesn't have Mr. Fuji as the ticket collector!

It just won't be the same experience...

    FUCK!

    Damn Mr. Fuji?!?!?!?

If I had a quarter every time he threw salt in Rocky Johnson's or Don Muraco's eyes on Saturday Nights Main Event I'd be a wealthy man!!!

Next time you see him tell him alot of us respect his work from the 80's!!
He deserves better than tearing tickets at a movie theater.....Vince is a dick!!!

Mr. Fuji was awesome back in the day. I remember when he used to team with Tiger Chung Lee back in the early 80's, then manage teams like The Powers of Pain & Demolition.

Turns out...this is the story with Mr Fuji:

He retired and he is well off. He is so bored (and old) that he said he wanted to just get some normal mindless job. He chose the theater because he LOVES movies, so now gets to see all the new released for free as much as he wants.

    Makes sense to me!

That's a relief! Its good to hear that he's working to keep busy and not just to survive.

Of course, his survival alone is amazing, considering how many other wrestlers die in their 40s. Ask him if "Yokozuna" is still around.

I swear, man. You've got to snap a photo of him and post it here. That'd be sweet!

If he dclines, tell him its for his adoring fans, who are ready to crush his enemies like flies! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Yeah, Mr. Fuji... everyone loved "THE DEVIOUS ONE."

At the wrestlemania hall of fame ceremony The Magnificent Don Muraco was pushing Mr. Fuji's wheel chair.
I guess no retirement plans on WWF or as they call it now WWE
