Years ago I traded tapes with a Greek girl. We lost contact, but back then she has send me a demo tape of the Greek band TATIR. It was a very good release and reminded me a lot at Greece finest artists Thou Art Lord and Rotting Christ in their majestic days!

But what's up with Tatir? A never heard anything about them anymore.

Are you sure that they're called Tatir? Maybe they're named Kawir

No, I'm sure as hell. And the demo tape I got is called "Fons acheroni" or something like that.

I'm sorry. There's a greek band named Tatir. Here's what I found 'bout 'em:
Tatir - Evil Pagan Black Metal
The man you see at the left is Filid of Carpathian Forest, drummer of Athenian pagan black metal band Tatir. Tatir was formed in ΄94 and in ΄95 the first demo was recorded entitled "Dark Autumn Nights". After this a promotape has been recorded too. Tatir΄s music is impressive. Fast furious black metal with cool bridges with flute and ancient recitations and so on. Also Hierphant΄s vocals is good as always. One cool thing about their 1996 promo "Fons Acheroni" is that the cover΄s artwork has been done by Panos Sounas who also has done the artwork for Necromantia. The musicians of Tatir are really good and the guitarist has a cool solo with delay on their promotape. And Filid, the drummer has got the speed that you need to play in a black metal band like Tatir. All I hope is that they will release their CD soon and that it will available outside Greece too, as this is a band that deserve a real breakthrough.

It must be the band I was talking about, though your URL doesn't project a logo. Did you know anything about their activities at this moment?

Unfortunately no. I heard them from you.
Sorry about the logo. I'm not very familiar with the attachement stuff... There's a site that you can visit about metal in Greece. Here you are: members.tripod.com/~ochoros I hope that will work this time :)

Nice site man! I also like the band ACID DEATH. Once I traded a tape with a certain George Kappos, and most bands were Greek.

I love Acid Death man! I have their 1st 7" EP "Apathy Murders Hoppe" (in blue vinyl) and their split 12" EP with Avulsed "Misled". I've also heard one song from their latest cd and it really rules. They have played with Cannibal Corpse here!
