think about it, their first album was good, the second one was better, the third one was greater, the new one is for sure going to kick ass and going to top them all.

Absu - S/T is a hell of an album, I wasn't expecting much.

Mastodon's Crack the Skye is also pretty good.

The new Slugathor and Ignivomous albums are probably going to join Funebrarum for top straight death metal albums of the year. The Ignivomous album is apparently recorded I believe.

Really digging the new Slugathor. A nice cross between Descend into the Absurd and Warmaster.

ARRGH. Haven't heard it yet. Hopefully gonna order the diehard LP tonight though... if they're still there. 0__0

Slugathor is fucking amazing though. Probably my top death metal album for this year so far.

I've only heard it once at a friend's house, but from what I could gather from that intent listen, it's a fucking monolith. The first two albums are certainly crushing in their own regard, but this one is so damned ominous and consuming that I feel the best comparison I can come up with is like being eaten by that giant space worm thing from Empire Strikes Back. Think about it.

I think they ran out of the diehard LP. Every time i click on the link it says "product could not be found" or something like that. I've already ordered the CD, but kinda want the LP also, given that i own all of my Ignivomous on vinyl (hate to break the system).

Embrace of Thorns still leads the Black/Death category IMO, despite awesome efforts by Archgoat, Diocletian and Teitanblood.
