My friends in Clad In Darkness are really excited about playing with them in Chicago. Velnias are also playing, so local support I guess.

A lot of the ideas of persecution of Jews are actually derived from Martin Luther's writing, not Nietzsche. Despite heralding in a new age of Christianity his writings are very anti-semitic.

Finally picked up a hard copy of this at a record store near my house today:

yeah. the atmopshere that they create is amazing. excellent metal work and the others instruments are played perfectly. the vocals are the best part. not so harsh.

I certainly think their two first albums (+ the EP In the Shadow of Another World) are most unique and interesting, although they don't sound as professional as on their later releases.

The Haunting is my favourite but there is good stuff on all their albums.

I wouldn't call it black metal, though. Only the vocals are reminiscent of black metal. I would say it's some kind of dark metal...

I'd call Sear Bliss Symphonic Dark Metal.

Wish Alcest was coming to Colorado.

Velnias seems to play with any band even tangentially related to black metal, so this will be like, the sixth time I've seen them. I don't think they suck though. Sound seems to vary lots based on the venue.

Shining - Blackjazz (norwegian band, not the swedish one)

Craziest stuff I've heard in a while... mixing black metal with jazz/saxophone and industrial music.

    Regarding Sigh...

So, if I really like Gallow's Gallery and Imaginery Sonicscape but really don't like Hangman's Hymn, should I then get Scenes from Hell?

The band is currently recording their 5th full-length album for Hells Headbangers & No Colours.
Watch for CD & LP pressings from both labels Summer 2010.

In addition to the new album, HHR will also re-issue the hard-to-find 1998 debut album,
Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult. Mastered for the very FIRST time, this deluxe
Digipak CD & double LP boasts a much better sound quality, all new cover artwork painted by
Antichrist Kramer and one of the most notable deluxe packaging/layouts
in the history of the label & bands' discography

That new artwork is definitely enough for me to buy another copy of the debut. Can't wait for the new album. Fucking great band.
