Don't know if this is the right forum, but just wanted to tip you guys that Born of Osiris is giving away free stems from their song "M∆CHINE". I had a lot of fun listening to it, and really see how individual tracks really sound like in a high-quality production like this when solo'd. Hope you have as much fun as I have! https://www.wetransfer.com/downloads/cb51e4d7fab9ade5673048ecc2e4f68020130625193232/cae2de# EDIT: They decided to take it down, for whatever reason. So I reuploaded it, grab it here; https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/61928205/M∆CHINE Stems.rar
great! thanks man! does anyone know how to achieve that bass sound? sounds like proseced and compresed to hell sansamp!
I would agree. The guitars sound way too compressed and sounds like it was a VST guitar amp on a DI track. As for the bass, it sounds like it was a programmed bass. Drums sound great though.
It definitely was a VST on a DI for the guitars. Drums I can say for certain are 100% replaced besides the snare as they only tracked triggers for kick/toms.
Don't want to sound like a dick, but I literally hated everything in this production. Beginning with the unnatural and unaesthetic tones (bass, guitars, drums), ending with sloppy picking on riffs (combined with that super-edited midi-like guitar solos) and poorly programmed "orchestral" intro. Well, maybe it's not BAD, but I was expecting so much more when loading the stems into project.
Drum bus is clipped, guitars seem to be heavily limited as well. Any one else clipping their drum bus like that?
LOL at anyone hating on this mix, best production to ever happen to Born of Osiris. Of course joey fucking sturgis is going to have unnatural guitar tones.
cool man. This mix is grindy in all the wrongs ways imo. The effects and orchestra are fucking killer though
