    Hi there,

Does anyone know a plugin with a character similar to the Boss HM-2?
You know...the typical swedish death metal thingy.

    Cheers

The Amplitude Metal Distortion 2 is based on the HM-2. That's the first one I can think of. The MT-2 is the more commonly modeled one. But you know I have never compared the sims of those to the original.

Matching eq + any kind of buzz-fuzz-ugly distortion et voilà!

POD Farm has an HM-2 sim that isn't too bad. Obviously very old though. I'd like to see Ignite Amps or TSE make a copy.

SinMix has a HM-2 profile for Kemper, software-wise I think your best bet would be eq-matching,
or just buy the thing. If not available, I've heard a pretty decent & cheap alternative:

Mostly for nostalgia, I have my HM2 just for those times I wanna jam Clandestine lol. I've never used that tone on any practical project....it's a one trick pony, and a specific one at that.

It sounds fucking brutal and nasty. Not everybody is after a tight controlled "modern" sound.
