Guy on the cover of the new Spectral Lore album looks a bit like a slightly better drawn version of the stonks guy meme.

This any good J? I'm still enjoying the one from the tournament, need to try another one.

I have it but havent listened yet. Cuz i suck

If you like III, I would recommend the two splits with Mare Cognitum, "Sol" and "Wanderers".

Also, I personally think Gnosis is fantastic. You might also like Sentinel.

After just one listen, it's definitely more like Sentinel. Less finesse, more chaos. Less acoustics/ambient, more guitars on top of guitars. Song #4 really hit me hard. It's definitely a grower, so I look forward to more involved listens. Unfortunately, just like Sentinel, it ends with a long noise track that only gets semi-interesting towards the end with some light guitar strumming and ooooooohs and ahhhhhhhhhs.

In short, definitely worth hearing. Skip the last track.

Carcass reunion tour from 2008 was the single wildest show I've ever attended. Even the barstools at the back were moshing.

"Bang yer fookin' 'eads! I'm 40 years old and tougher than you!"

Awesome thread over at Last Rites about Chilean metalz

These two stood out above and beyond:

This album drips absolute metal glory---could be in my top 3 of the year so far---that bass, those solos, those riffs :kickass::headbang::kickass::headbang:

Also this album (which I heard one track when it first came out) also melts complete face :D So much variety on display throughout all tracks--fuck yes-

Speaking of bands with Witch in the name, this just came out last week. It rules. I also did the cover art, but that's not why it rules.

I haven't heard the new EP, but their last full-length is fucking awesome. The artwork is outstanding for all of the releases. "Poisoned Blood" is one of your coolest pieces ever.

This is some fucking badass fucking shit and I look forward to studying it in detail very soon. This is 666% why I'm still too old to rock and/or roll, and yet, too young to die.
