yes, there was this review, but it's in German - maybe someone could translate? :)

Das eröffnet Frontmann Alexi mit einer Ansage "Let's slow down a little bit".

Und was macht Janne?

    Freaking awesome pics, sleeper666!

I've got nothing better to do at the moment, so I started the translation. But since I won't be there during the weekend, you can do the rest, when your birthday's over ;) Have a nice party!

I wasn't sure about some expressions, but anyway, here's what I got:

"After years of abstinence as headliner on european stages and after a seemingly endless backfitting break it's time for CHILDREN OF BODOM. The intro booms out of the speakers, the CORPSE-banner that was hanging in the background falls down and drummer Jaska first enters the stage. His collegues follow. Keyboardist Janne scales alerady a bit tipsy the small stairs to his keyboard. The stage decoration is like on their "Chaos Ridden Years“-live-DVD rather simple. The first song is “Hellhounds On My Trail“ from the album “Blooddrunk“ that was released last year. Next in line is “Living Dead Beat“ from the forerunner.

The audience still seems a bit restrained at that time, they seemingly don't quite know, how to act. A spark hasnt been ignited yet. But this suddenly changes with their song “Sixpounder“ from “Hate Crew Deathroll“ from 2003. This track's tempo is a bit slower in places, and after having been pretty shaken up by the first two songs, people seem to be thankful for less speed for the benefit of more intensity.

In addition to classics such as “Silent Night, Bodom Night“, “Children of Decadence“ and “Follow the Reaper“, the new “Banned from Heaven“ follows. It's announced by frontman Alexi with "Let's slow down a little bit". At the concert's temporary highlight, bassist Henkka disappears to change his shirt that is completely soaked with sweat to a new one, instead of just taking it off, much to the distress of his female fans – then “Hate Me!“ already starts. Simply amazing. With this song they make it over and over again. Alexi does the pose that got famous as Steve-Vai-move by swinging his guitar round his body and then just shreds on."

here´s the rest, @blooddrunk: take it as birthday gift, o.k? Wünsche dir eine coole Party, lass dich feiern!!!

You bitterly realise now that the concert will end soon. CoB are doing “Blooddrunk”, “In Your Face” and “Angels don´t kill”, to end the concert with the songs ”Lake Bodom” and “Downfall”. But for the audience that´s not enough and they´re growling and screaming until the guys are forcing themselves to do two encores. And what´s Janne doing? He has already had enough booze and shows up on stage with Roope´s guitar. Alexi´s mildly smiling and asks Janne to return to his keyboards. Nice joke – or at least they tried. But during a CoB-concert you can usually see Key- or “Gay”-border Janne and Alexi teasing each other a little bit. And so even the glorious but also expected “Hate Crew Deathroll” cannot overcome the slightly bitter aftertaste that many things of this concert could have to be expected: The effectively lightshow (done by rather little means), much posing like Henkka´s sidestep, here and then changing the positions or Alexi visiting Janne to do the solos together.
A really good show, maybe CoB will appear even more vivid when they already played the tour for a little while.
That´s the bad point when a tour is starting, but usually you will find your easiness as a musician while being on the road. But the combination for this tour cannot be adjusted anymore, and you may doubt if the size of the audience will still grow during the tour. It´s more than just a dare to send such different heroes on one tour, cuz especially metalfans are feeling aggrieved very fast, especially on extreme metal. And here we have Cannibal Corpse still standing for deathly seriousness while CoB standing for fluffy-quick melodies, persistant glorification of alcohol, spitting and the most “fucks” in the whole world.

    aaaargh that hurts.
