If those are all 10/10, then obviously your opinion is generally loose. I trust no one with more than 3 10/10s and assume they're actually all 8s.
Good call. It's like the reviews on metal-archives. Everyone pretty much hands out 90%+ to every album they like. I usually give albums I like about 80-85% and only the timeless stuff gets 9x%
There can only be three 10/10 albums out of like...ten billion in existence? That's absurd. It's not like I was picking from one genre of music, but I was taking from all of them. For there to only be three is absolutely absurd.
it's relatively dependent. we can base our score on the album with respect to: 1. the band's potential (this cuts off filler tracks and inconsistency) 2. their genre (or maybe subgenre) 3. our opinion on what music should sound like i think if you take all these into account, and include decimals, the list becomes considerably smaller. then again, i'm fairly confident you listen to a lot of a music. THEN AGAIN, you write poetry, so you're a bit emo. but you're hung like a king of the jungle and that's cool too.
also, "current" 10/10 albums" is a strange concept. i think it's just colloquialism for "albums currently kicking your ass". 10/10 albums should be special and not current.
Personally I would have gone with Bergtatt over Perdition City, but thats because i'm totally gay for old Ulver.
Yeah, I was really questioning whether to include Ulver at all, really, since I don't like their Black Metal sound, the folk is enjoyable and relaxing but not much more, and their electronic direction has proven to be more influenced than influential, but I just love Perdition City so much that I couldn't help myself. They did what they planned to do very, very well, I'd say. Edit: I was really saddened by a lot of the albums I wasn't able to include in that list. For example, I wanted Sleepytime Gorilla Museum on the list, but even though they are among my favorite current bands, neither of their albums is a 10/10, unfortunately.
