Hey, do you have any custom painted guitars? I took my Ibanez to a painter a few years ago and he painted that skeleton picture on. He was no guitar painter just a standard painter but he used varnish to make it stable.

Yeah, looks badass dude - so he painted it on the clearcoat, and then put varnish on top of it? Seems like that'd get a bit goopy, but if it's lasted this long then fuck yeah!

A Packer's fan in Slovenia? Interesting.

But on to subject at hand - I have given some thought to having something painted onto one of my guitars since I have a friend that is a really good airbrush artist, but I have not figured out which guitar I want to strip down and refinish.

Yeah, it definitely does, except that it also looks like it's made of like 4 pieces of wood glued together :erk: Kinda looks like it'll be more show than go (when go = sound), but what show! :worship:

It's a cheap Ibanez body that he is modding himself, I'm sure if he built it from scratch it wouldn't be 4 pieces glued together... That's how Ibanez rolls though :/ I've seen a lot of stripped old RGs that are just as much wood filler as wood.

    Still love mine though

thanks guys! i sure will keep you posted.
actually this guitar is wana be ibanez it is cheap dimavery that i got from ebay for 60€.
what shall i say, it sounded just like how much i paid for it. :erk:
so i thought it will be nice guinee pig project guitar. i have upgraded it with dimarzio custom bridge pup it did wonders to it but still it sounded not so good the sustain would get totally castrated above the 14th fret.
i had this excess block of maple wood laying around from my other baritone build so i thought to my self well i got nothing to loose why not ripping her heart out and replacing it with nice maple??? :)
besides the neck pocket was so bad made that it had gaps from every side and even uneven layer of clear lack in there not to mention the screws....

enough hijacking this thread by me keep 'em coming people.

Yeah well it was like this:

He painted the picture on the guitar with "pastel" if you call that paint the same I'm not sure that's the right english expression. Then we used that spray that is used to spray cars...U know the transparent spray, I don't know again how you call it in english...I guess car polish :D or car varnish :D

And then we pealed off the spray or varnish :D on those spots that didn't include the picture....and it has beem completely stable for six year.... Of course you can put it off with a sharp piece of plastic... but you can't peal it off with playing :D
