    Starkweather is one of my favorite bands but I don't know if I'd call them metalcore.

    Just checked them out. Much better than other Metalcore I have heard, but a little too soft.

    They were one of the first metalcore bands.

    Yeah but it's similar to the "Venom is black metal" issue.

    Ah...thanks. My fingers are retarded.

    Yeah, they mix it up quite a bit, and have some pretty subdued passages. I think the contrasts are great. But it is a far cry from a lot of the metalcore and deathcore of these days. Still, a brilliant release IMO.
