...at PPUSA!! Listening again to the Tarot album I find myself singing these choruses and they seem so familiar!! The arrangements are also amazing, just listen to the Savatage-like multi-voice harmonies in Devil in the Tower and just the whole orchestration. They have changed over the years, same as singers, and become so much better. If you like Melodic Symphonic Power Metal, you need to check this out!! Think of a lighter Nightwish if I had to
    Compare.

Dark Moor is a great band indeed. I first became a fan when I heard The Hall of Olden Dreams with Elisa who went on to be in Fairyland. I always used to call them Spanish Rhapsody. Their last few albums have all been great. My fave is probably Autumnal or Ancestral Romance but you can't go too far wrong with any of the albums from Tarot onwards or the Elisa albums if you don't mind female vocals.

Well she did one album with Fairyland but her real band was Dreamaker. Which was the original members of DM that got fired with her. They did 2 albums and then she started Hamka which is her current band.

I love them, especially now that they have Alfred Romero on vocals.

Finally sat down and chronicled all my thoughts on Dark Moor this spring. Certainly one of my favorites, and would be another once-in-a-lifetime experience if they ever came to the States for PPUSA. Would make my year.

These guys pop up on my Pandora metal station a lot, and I'm surprised they don't get mentioned more around here. Pretty solid...

Dark Moor would be one of the top 5 bands I'd most like to see at PPUSA. I've been listening to them a lot of late.

You said Tarot album, and now all I can think about is the band Tarot playing at PPUSA.

When I was younger I definitely told people Dark Moor was my favorite metal band. Always has been a top pick for PPUSA for me. But I traveled to Europe and caught them at a festival a few months ago - - and it was sad and disappointing. They didn't play a single classic tune and the band sounded extremely far from metal. They sounded like a mediocre pop band with some lightly distorted guitars. The band just doesn't exist the way you remember them. My friend and I walked away more sad than angry; thinking of what a great band they used to be.

These are the kinds of posts that I appreciate. It allows me to investigate bands with a balanced view.

I don't know, sounds pretty good to me, IMO:

Sound is a bit muffled because it's clearly fan-filmed, but they sound like a symphonic metal band to me. Doesn't sound weak or pop-y. *shrug*

I love Dark Moor but I often wonder how much is piped in during the live show. I have seen a few live videos where it seems a lot is. They are a band I would love to see live one day.
