Go re-listen to Amethyste - Thrown Off Balance. I hadn't listened to it since 2006 but I really enjoyed it when I put it on recently.
In my Top 5 as well. I've been listening to that album since 2001, don't think i'll ever get tired of it.
Guys, is it possible that Effigy of the Forgotten was re-released recently with the same matrix and everything? Because I was in a shop in centre of Prague where they usually have nothing (older than few years) and they had whad appeared like a totally legit firstpress and also a same release of Breeding the Spawn as I own and am quite sure it's a firstpress too. Does Roadrunner do the same shit as Peaceville?
Been listening to some Slugathor lately. Nice, putrid Finnish death metal. But I don't think any other death metal album made me came as much as Asphyx's new one. Godly, I tell you.
Guys, I actually think that the new Annotations of an Autopsy album is not shit deathcore but is in fact, decent death metal. Is this bad?
I can confirm that Goddefied is still fucking quality. This 7" contains 2 new songs on side A that are both absolutely solid and a rerecording of Zephaniah Dwells on the B side that fully lives up to the original. Hopefully there's more to come. I was looking for mp3s of this and somewhat happily couldn't find any, so I ripped it myself. I recommend that everyone with a record player who likes authentic old school death metal buy a copy of this.
It's a bit more straightforward, but still in the same vein. I would imagine most people who liked Abysmal Grief should like "Devoured" and "Remnants of the Art", and the re-recording of "Zephaniah Dwells" is very good.
Kind of a noobish and general question, but are there any bands similar to the thick sludgy sound of Morbid Angel? Stuff like this song
New Gorguts samples. Sounds awesome to my ears. http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=137107
