Really been digging the uprising of Incantation styled, slow doomy stuff coming out lately. Father Befouled, Teitanblood, etc. Any similar stuff out there I might be missing?

This. I feel like a preemptive "fuck the haters" statement is in order as well, so, fuck the haters.

Check out Blaspherian's full length if you haven't yet. It's mostly a blend of Deicide's blas(t beat)phemous intensity and Incantation's masterful use of varying tempos in accordance with the mood of each song; but I definitely feel like the band is treading some new ground albeit in a familiar fashion.

I already know Vasaeleth, really kick ass stuff. I'll be sure to check out the Blaspherian. Heard of it before and I think I heard a song and it was pretty cool, but I don't remember exactly.

So Morbid Angel revealed some more details about their new album including artwork for the album and new single:

I'm honestly surprised to hear any news regarding the new album.

I think the artwork for the single should be used for the album cover instead! In my opinion, it's by far the better of the two. But I generally don't like really digital-looking art...

^ Yeah, it's a damn cool album indeed. I'm glad you enjoyed their S/T. Recently I got their compilation "Tank Pa Doden" (actually it's written with lots of accents which I've no clue how to find in the keyboard, sorry) - but I still got to spin it.

Too few people know them, it's a shame. Take a look at my RYM best releases lists if you're interested, there's great stuff from underrated bands.

More people need to check out the Sonne Adam full length. As if the new Necros Christos hadn't kicked my ass enough, then this one comes along! And the previously mentioned Blaspherian full length is fucking great too. I can see a lot of quality death metal releases making the top of my list this year.

I previewed 2 tracks and it sounds fucking killer. I've been listening to this band when Armed With Hammers was first released digitally.

The new Necros Christos album really is great stuff. I got in the mail yesterday and have already given it 5-6 listens. It isn't as "catchy" as the first album. The new one has a doomy, crushing atmosphere. The interludes on it actually feel like they're part of the album and not some annoying shit I want to skip. At this point I'm confident that I'll return to Doom of the Occult more than TIR a few years from now.
