    i dunno if this has been done before, but since these albums were recorded in the same sessions, i think they should be pitted against each other! well, deliverance has that awesome heavy sound, but damnation is just so nice and beautiful. tough call!

    when i first heard of these albusm when i hadn't heard them yet i thought Damnation was going to be the heavy one because it has the word Damn in it

    I'd say Deliverance because it's my favorite Opeth albom. Damnation is good but Deliverance is bestest!1

    Deliverance is actually pretty bad in places, so I'll go with Damnation.

    I've only listened to Deliverance once, but it seems to be like that was the album in which Opeth began their decline.

    They are both great! Too hard to choose.

    Master's Apprentice was also the second song that got me into Opeth, the first was TBYF.

    Both great albums!

    Deliverance = best album period. Wreath and Masters Apprentice are just too damn godly. Decline my ass.

    But Damnation is my personal favorite.

    Damnation is a great album with some weak spots and so is Deliverance, but other than that I find them uncomparable. Damnation is just a totally different thing.

    By the Pain I see in Others is pretty weak... The end of A Fair Judgement is unneccessary... Wreath has some weak spots...

    Definitely Damnation.
