    Bastards.

Sometimes I get the impression the average person doesn't give a hoot about any movie made before 1980, and it's a great shame.

Lawrence of Arabia is amazing. Lean had just finished The Bridge on the River Kwai before making it, too, and those two are really great movies.

Yeah, I agree about your friends sucking. I'd love to go see some kickass old flicks in a place like that.

Just got back from District 9. It was very good. A couple of small plot points that were ooops, but I'm just nit picking.
It was different from a lot of other movies, summer movies especially, so I think that helped it a bit.
    Overall, go see it.

And I see movies by myself all the time, I like it. Sunday afternoon, bored, two theaters no more than 5 minutes away and I'm off. No fussing around or making plans, just go.

    Marvelous movie, absolutely amazing.

One tiny plot point is all I could really see (PM if you've seen and want to discuss, or if you're just curious).

Fucking, some faggy scene kid with that stupid hair sitting about three seats over with two chicks doting over him (also scene chicks), spouting about how it was supposed to be about satire and spitting out fake facts and shit and those chicks eat it up.

    Douchenut.

Anyway, 5/5 easily. See this movie.

Edit: Also totally going to see 9, Legion (looks to be really cheesy), and Shutter Island. So psyched for 9.

Well, I'm familiar with the cinema industry, and generally box office sales cause a site to break even, whereas food sales are the heart of all profits. They buy cheap shit and sell it with high mark ups, popcorn has some ridiculous mark up like 600%. Visiting a cinema with one's own food pretty much undermines the multi-plex "pack 'em in" culture, and that's no bad thing.

the movie was very, very good, much better than the previews AND it gets hyper violent toward the end, exploding bodies, heads, limbs ...gotta love that alien weaponry

Pretty overwhelming consensus, it's a great movie.

Really hate the staggered release date schedule.

1 large popcorn ($7.50) is more than enough to buy a 50 pound bag of seed, it's quite stupid, all though thats the most expensive thing on our menu.

The key is to carry a medium sized purse/man purse. Not too small but not suspiciously large, and sneak snacks & drinks in that way. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with my Happy Cola gummies. They tasted sour and not in a good way :(

Absolutely. I'm not sure whether we have that kind o' thing here - the nearest I've been is the giant Cineworld chain that sometimes shows old flicks.

I didn't see Valkyrie and nothing Singer's done has interested me in ages; it's just a curiosity.

Cameron's been aggrandizing this project a bit but if it's anywhere near the "seismic shift", as he puts it, in cinematic change then it should be spectacular. Visually, at least.

Aye, I normally use a small rucksack. Once though, some mates had me sneak a large pizza in its box up the back of my jacket. It was slightly greasy. :erk:

Haha someone I know did the same thing with a pizza once. And my friend and I used to sneak beer into the theater and go to like three movies after buying only one ticket. Good times.
