that was the shortest article i have ever read. nice!
gonna be gurd
The mix sounds really weird to me.
joey used real drums for this, bar the kick which was replaced.
I actually like the mix. Not as much as speaker of the dead, but at last Emmure's song writting as mildly improve.
Sounds like they got LESS powerful with this mix.
Maybe (hopefully) they go lighter on this CD like they did in Goodbye to the Gallows.
Pretty interesting sound he's got going here. But ugh, those vocals are just... not okay with me.
What happened to guitar beefiness? Meh, nothing really sticks out.
Meh for the song. I didn't really pay attention to the mix when i listened this so i can't give my opinion on that.
The other day i was listening to gallows and i must say it's still their best record to date. If judging by the quality of songs. Speaker of the dead might have been a good mix but the songs were kinda lame. This is better thab speaker of the dead but still not topping gallows.
^^^Me too. I still think Gallows was best overall. Song writing-wise and mix-wise.
The Zuess albums slayed.
this sounds huge
Sounds like Fear Factory sounded on their worst albums in the numetal period.
If it's any news to anyone, Joey mentioned on the FB page he used the 'criminal' head in Pod Farm for the guitars on this record.
I was playing with that model the other day and couldn't get anything useable from it. Shinfo
also sounds like treadplate cab with 57 mic on axis i tried to get a close tone because i was curious.
Damn, that is what I was using! =\ Now everybody is going to be using that because Joey did. Criminal emulates the tone from the Peavey 5150 II, and I love the tone! Tube Screamer - Criminal - Treadplate/Green 25 - 57/Cond = gr3at! <3
i had to eq a shit-ton to get it somewhat decent.
