Is someone here using it ?? I need to know if it would give really good distortion without losing clarity at really high gain levels.. ive heard on the smn forum that its not good enough for extreme metal type of music..
I own the e530 and it sounds awesome, good note clarity even with the gain at 10 on the highest gain channel. I normally keep the gain around 5 and its plenty for death metal.
You wouldn't need a tube screamer, unless you wanted to alter the tone. It's extremely tight as is, I can't imagine wanting to tighten it up more.

well the difference imho is in the sound of the music and of course the type of music, for example .... this is deicide.. this is straight forward death metal, ... this is origin, the music here is more "aggresive" and faster too, this is brutal death metal, some call it tech brutal death too btw
Yeah it can do that stuff no bother- My brother has one, sounds pretty savage and there's tons of high gain on tap, defintaely doesn't need a boost in front to get you there either
really ? do u have any clip there ? the thing is maybe ur thinking: "Why the hell is this guy asking so much?" but in my country the e530 is 1000$ even thou its price on musiciansfriend is 600$, o and btw there is no returning policy here in vzla so if the engl comes broken i have to pay here to fix it..
Nope I've no clips but do a search for a dude called Kazrog here that has one and used it for clips of his product Reacabinet. my brother got his used for like 250 euro. 1000 dollars for a pre? thats crazy!!
There has to be some way- get it shipped over from Germany, you can buy them cheap enough on german sites, I'm sure someone would be able to ship it, then its just shipping and your countries tax on it,

This preamp features loads of gain. In fact, I can't think of any other amp manufacturer who has such hot distortion channels (except the classic series). There's a reason why Engl calls these channels "Ultra Gain". And you wouldn't need a TS cause there's a low-cut in the preamp. If you like the sounds of the Invader and Savage, that's the way to go!
well actually its brutal death for me, u see i think that Converge its like a grind death metal actually, wich imho, its really lame, i hate the vocals on that band, really its like a black metal growl made the wrong way hehehe.. another good brutal death metal band is Odious Mortem ....
also check Internal Suffering... THATS A REAL BAND ! Those guys are actually one of the best at what they do...
