    Copied from Bloodbath forum:

    In some order:

VANHELGD - Church of Death (awesome! Very delicious old school Death Metal)
DETONATION - Reprisal (awesome! Super brutal/aggressive yet melodic and varied)
CARDAMON - Sun as Never (awesome! superb female fronted melodic/melancholic Rock/Metal) Download for free: http://www.detonation.nl/music/Cardamon_Sun as Never_album2011.zip
GOTYE - Making Mirrors (reeeaaaallly good)
MEGADETH - Th1rt3en (a very pleasant surprise, very enjoyable and solid album)
BLACKFIELD - Welcome to my DNA (beautiful album once more)
    PAATOS - Breathing (great album)
ENGORGE - Their Name Liveth For Evermore (very enjoyable old school Death Metal concept album)
STEEL PANTHER - Balls Out (Steel Panther! :D)
ISVIND - Intet Lever (some nasty Black Metal)

    Good but not exceptional:
    OPETH - Heritage (pretty nice)
COLDPLAY - Mylo Xyloto (nowhere near the brilliance and timelessness of Viva la Vida)
SHINING - VII: Född Förlorare (good but nowhere near V & VI)
CUSTOMS - Harlequins of Love (good, but not as great as the debut)
TEXTURES - Dualism (good but cannot match the utter awesomeness of (some songs of) Silhouettes)
MACHINE HEAD - Unto the Locust (pretty good Machine Head album)
STEVEN WILSON - Grace for Drowning (while I worship PT and Blackfield, his solo material doesn't really do it for me)

    Utter crap:
LOU REED & METALLICA - Lulu
MORBID ANGEL - Illud Bla Bla

    Amazing discovery:
DREDG - The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion (one of those bands that has been recommended to me many times, I tried but just never really got into it, until now, great great album)

    Top 10 - 2011

    In no particular order:

Timber Timbre - Creep On Creepin' On
    Wild Beasts - Smother
Colin Stetson - New History Warfare Vol. 2: Judges
WU LYF - Go Tell Fire To The Mountain
    Long Arm - The Branches
    Battles - Gloss Drop
Promise And The Monster - Red Tide
Radiohead - The King of Limbs
    Sbtrkt - SBTRKT
    Miracle - Fluid Window

Spotify playlist with a song of each album: http://open.spotify.com/user/ilikeost/playlist/1uALSOfSbZoc2sbLKpwsYc

But from all these releases I think my favourite is Wild Beasts - Smother, simply brilliant album.

Hi btw! Its been ages since I posted anything here! I guess my taste in music have changed quite alot since the last time I posted here. I cant really say that I'm a big Katatonia fan now a days but I gave Dance of December Souls (still fantastic) a spin a few days ago and I remembered this forum.
