Those guitarists from Explosions in the Sky. I don't know their names, but they are awesome.
Jonsi from Sigur Ros
Efrim Menuck from GY!BE
Taka from Mono
Yeh, that cat from Mono is excellent.
I just listened to the night radio.
after they had played ABBA, this old lady (around 70 I'd guess) called and said:
- I do not want to hear this crap! you play too wimpy music! now give me some real fuckin Frank Zappa!
I cracked me up, so damn unexpected.
what does this have to do with this thread?
I definitely agree with the Explosions in the Sky and Mono.
But what abooot Isis? Too heavy?
Anyone heard of Boris? Their Flood album is quite brilliant.
They're more post-metal/sludge
The pedal steel guy in red sparrows in that one song: A Message Of Avarice Rained Down... blah blah blah
The guys from Mogwai, because they don't pussy up when it comes to stomping on those distortion pedals.
I love post rock, but I've honestly never really paid attention to guitarists or individual instrumentalists in post rock bands. Though after seeing Sigur Ros live, Jonsi definitely is worth a mention. He's one of the few people I've seen play a guitar using a bow without it becoming gimmicky. Actually, the only person!
