I tried HMV and Play today. One said that it was the correct date but no shipment. The other stated that it comes out next week. So, when I got home I bought it off iTunes. Happy now :headbang:

If I go back to Korea, I nab a copy if DT are still on the DOPE label.

Hmm. We have a listing for it, so we're getting it for sure, it is just a question of when... I'm surprised, I've actually had four people asking about it. Too bad we're only going to carry one at a time, and the first one is mine. :p

    Still enjoying :headbang:

Music World will probably end up folding like Tower Records and Sam The Record Man. The days of fruitlessly searching, dealing with moronic clerks and then paying an incredible markup are over.

Yeah those bastards at CD Plus told me May 1st when I went there last tuesday. I also own a bootleg version but I'm loyal enough that I plan on buying an authentic copy when it's available.

It should be coming in next week, hopefully. It's on our pending list, so we should be getting it in really soon.

Why not move somewhere where you can get DT CDs? :p

@the latin americans: why the hell would you want to move out of good weather? i mean - aside from work-related reasons. but seriously, leaving costa rica for bears and ice? i'd understand the iced beers, but you can have those where you are. i wish i was a resident of recoleta now.

Well, I think it is because of environmental reasons:

And I don't mean just the weather, it's the whole atmosphere that isn't very welcoming, at least for me.

Basically, most of what we have here, at least on my opinion, is completely shallow:

The language: I don't really like spanish, I don't want to sound pompous or anything, and I acknowledge my english is really not good at all, but I'm just not very interested in spanish (though I try to write spanish as accurately as I can).

-Religious Ideology: 89% of people are catholic (check wiki if you doubt this), and out of the remaining 11%, 6% are christia-protestants, and mormons come next, so as you can imagine people are not very open-minded, specially where I live, which is one of the most close-minded states of the country, where the party that gets the most votes is the one that seems to be more puritanical.

-Music: Everywhere you hear sucky folk, suckier pop and hip-hop, and even suckier reggaeton. I can't stand most parties and there are not any places where they would play metal just for the fun of it, and there are very few places in which they would at least play rock on a steady basis - also, radio sucks.

-Weather: Always above 27 C, only a little colder in winter. I know that sounds great to people who live in rainy, obscure or cold places, but I like cloudy days, and at least to my experience, 10 C is more comfortable than 40 C. If it's cold (I don't mean too cold, just, let's say -10 to 10 C) you can just wear a jacket (or more and more clothes) and you're set, but when it's too warm, you just have to live with it, not very comfortable if you like to wear black.

-Way of thinking: People are not very philosophical, and prejudice is at its highest levels, everyone loves to make assumptions and misjudge things and persons they know nothing about without any groundwork. This is ambiguity's homestead, and very often it's hard to find someone to have a meaningful conversation with. Picture this: In average, 6 out of every 10 mexicans read one book a year, the other 4 out of those 10, zero.

-Technological Situation: We have actually discovered the wheel just last week. Actually it's not so bad, but any electronic device is more expensive than on industrialized countries, and we don't specially get cutting/bleeding edge things.

-Government: A corruption-infested muckworm anschluss, people believe about 3% of what authorities say, but no one would raise a finger to do anything about it, or even, god forbid, vote for "the other parties". Cops are often scarier than criminals. Also there are small towns which are completely under the control of certain druglords (at least not near me, though).

-Nationalism/Discrimination: Everyone loves the country, yet no one would actually do anything to improve it. Everyone respects our heritage, yet nobody would talk to a "filthy indian" as if they were also people.

About work, well I have never really had any trouble finding a job, but that's just a bit of luck and loads of help from family, etc.

And of course there are also some good things, but I think the bad outweighs the good. For a regular person though, I'd assume it's a nice place to live in.

Why "filthy indian"? Perhaps i have an idealised view of them, so i'd like to know more about the issue and why the regular mexicans see them that way.

As for the rest of the things you mentioned, except for a few things, i'm pretty sure that you would encounter similar problems everywhere.
