...yeah...I just think it's damn hard to dail in the real sound for mesa if you were used to work with a 5150. What do you think guys...is it cool?

The guitars are untouched...no LP no HP ... only Ozone on the master buss for a little loudness!

Just keep all your settings around 12 oclock and tweak it a little left or right... try not to push the gain knob past 12. Usa a boost pedal...boost the level and leave the drive at 0 ...that's it! kindaa...

Really like it man. Maybe a bit high middy or fizzy, but still a damn good tone.

I find the key to recording a recto is to push the master volume until the 4.5k fizz disappears. This is normally about 10 o'clock on the master which is deafeningly loud on my triple recto.
As already said keep all controls between 11 and 12 o'clock and boost with ts808. I set the eq by pushing up the treble until fizz appears and notching back slightly, same with pres. Push bass until 150hz takes over then notch back a bit then adjust mid to taste. This normally ends up as gain 12.30 o'clock, pres 10o'c (on 3 channel recto), bass 11o'c, mid 10o'c, treb 11.45o'c, channel master 12o'c, output master 10o'c.
When you really push the master volume the tone of the amp completely changes and you need much less gain.

I am reamping an album through the recto at the moment (literally)
Dropbox the dis and backing for your track above and I will run it and post.
I can't upload anything from the album I am doing.

Oops, didn't notice the 'roadster' in the file name first :loco:
Anyway, this inspired me to do another guitar test on my Roadster.
Used channel 4 modern on 100w diode tracking (I barely notice anything different when recording recto tracking or diode, though I do 'feel' the difference when playing)
    Settings o'clock:
    presence 10:00
    bass 11:30
    mid 13:00
    treble 12:00
master , master output at 10:00
Framus dragon ST cab, sm 57 on V30 centered but turned slightly towards the outside of speaker.
