Don't you just love it when the waiter/tress brings you that big fuckin' glass the size of a barrel full of that light, citrus-y concoction of fermented hops and barley called Hoegarden?

    Goooooooooooooooddamn it's good.

For all of you poor souls who've never tasted the bittersweet goodness of the Guinness (one n or two? don't remember) of blonde beers, you must try it. Or just come visit me here in Italy and we'll go hang out and some shows and drink the orgasmic liquid together. Err, disregard the last phrase in that sentence...that sounded sort of disgusting. Anyway, it's good beer.

I've had it, but I'm not a fan of white/wheat beers.

I'm a fan of Granville Island beer. Good ol' local ales.

Hoegaarden is decent, but nowhere near the best Belgium as to offer. Why don't you come to visit me here in Belgium and I'll teach you a thing or two about beer :)

Let's do it!!! Unfortunately, I've only been exposed to Hoegaarden and Leffe, and of all the Leffes, I prefer their dark beer.

Hollandse pilsners zien eruit als pis.
Ok, sommige zeggen dat het smaakt naar pis maar dat beweer ik hier maar niet. :Smug:

Anyway, all of my fav beers come from Belgian breweries,
although Wilson Stout and Celis White are in fact American recipes brewed under license in Belgium.
Chimay, Rochefort, Chouffe, Stille Nacht (oh heck, anything of "De Dolle Brouwers" brewery will do!)
Hoegaarden- Verboden Vrucht & grand Cru, Celis White, Wilson Stout, Leute Bokbier, and my own recipe.
Yes, i brew my own beer.

Have you tried this one yet, David?
    It's a Trappist ale. 6,5%.

I drank this trappist during my winter holiday in Trois Ponts, Karen.
Imagine coming home after a 6 hour walk in the woods of Coo on a cold winter's day,
kicking your boots off and sit down in front of a warm-glowing hearth,
drink Orval and nibble on some Chimay cheese, staring into the fire and listen to the wood crackle?
Thát's how this beer tastes like. Crispy dry and fruity bitter.
I don't know what i like better, the trappist beers or cheeses. Both rule.

Are you talking to me or NoLordy?

I prefer my beer the way I prefer my women: blonde :)

There's way more beers in Belgium than those. Those are the most well-known, but there's lots more.

Because you come from Germany?

Van jou neem ik aan dat je dit eerder hebt leren drinken, dan ik.
Ik heb dit afgelopen februari voor het eerst geproeft.
For those who don't speak Freaky Deaky Dutch:
