Whatever happened to these Germans? Their two albums were killer IMO, especially the second one 'Heavenseeker' which sounded like them finally hitting their stride. Great heavy power metal...anybody know what happened to 'em?

The singer left, and they got Mac from Threshold to replace him. Then Mac retired from music. Shortly after, Galloglass disbanded.

    Amazing and underrated band.

I forgot to mention that the original singer went on to sing for Human Fortress for a year or so in 2007 or 2008

I was actually just listening to Legends from Now & Nevermore the other day. I got that album at ProgPower 6, I think it had just come out, and it has been a constant listen ever since. In fact, my friends & I listened to it in the hotel the night I got it, and then on Saturday 4 out of the other 5 people I was with bought it! :headbang:

I actually recently relistened to both albums and watched the DVD that came with the second one. Truly a great and underrated band. Generally just standard power metal, but basically the absolute best that standard power metal can be. The second album is fantastic and shows a lot of diversity. All kinds of stuff from violins and choirs to harsher vocals and thrashy riffs. Really great band, shame they disbanded. There aren't too many bands left in this style I'd really WANT a new album from, but I'd be chomping at the bit for a 3rd Galloglass album.

You said it! Would have been nice to hear them release an album with Mac singing on it, but I really love Carsten's vocals. Hopefully there will be a 3rd Galloglass album in the future!

A thorn is ok but I thought Galloglass was way better.
