Not pure gold, still I like them enough!

Yeah Gamma Ray are pretty damn cool! Kai Hansen ruled when he was in Helloween and still does. I thought "No World Order" was their best effort for a few years too.

No World Order is really good then? I remember seeing it in Virgin, having only heard of Gamma Ray by name, and thought "Hmmm, looks a little washed-up to me, one of those albums that never got much success..." but everything I've heard about the album (passing comments from TWO people!) has actually been positive...

gamma ray is great. their best album is power plant...have you guys heard of stormwarrior? a new german power metal band, in the veins of gamma ray and old helloween.
kai is playing guitar on some of the tracks, but i don't really think he is a official band member.

Gamma Ray - IMO - have done a lot of great songs --- but a lot of SHIT, too!
Alltime favourite of mine would be "Heading for Tomorrow" - especially the title track blows me over each time it spins.
Especially live they really ROCK; I've seen them several times by now and they are wonderfully tight and powerful.
