Thrash metal had officially landed, and proceeded to kick out some of the very best albums metal has ever created (in other words, all of music has created thus far as of March 2017). NWOBHM also had a good year, though the emphasis of metal will begin to shift over to the United States. Most interestingly though, the French are also making their debut with some eyeball-boiling results.

    1. Metallica - Kill 'em All

    2. Slayer - Show No Mercy
    3. Mercyful Fate - Melissa
    4. Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
    5. Sortilège - Sortilège (EP)
    6. Def Leppard - Pyromania
    7. H-Bomb - Coup De Métal (EP)
    8. Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon
    9. Dio- Holy Diver
    10. Tokyo Blade - Tokyo Blade

    Honorable mentions:

    Manilla Road
    Satan
    Witchfinder General
    Motorhead

    Blaspheme
    Hellhammer

    P.S. Fuck this was hard!

This is honestly a weak year for my tastes, but I could see it being difficult for you for sure.

Which is kind of why I didn't think Holy Diver would be your #1 pick.

Holy Diver and KeA are the only two sure things on my list, Dio is godly

That Savatage album should probably be higher though, hmm.

Sirens drops off pretty significantly with the second half, but that run with the first four tracks is perfect.

You don't have to rank them you know. Just list your 10 favourites! I'm sure you can manage that.

I know, I'm an indecisive bastard, but that's what happens when you're as eclectic as I am.
