Obviously make sure to hit up RYM yourself and search your favourite genres.

The deadline is 26th of September 2020.

    The rules:
    - submit at least 5 releases.
    - first place in your rankings gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etcetc, 10th gets 1.
    - feel free to post more than 10, but only the top 10 will get points.
    - feel free to post less than 10, the same scoring will apply.
    - feel free not to rank your picks, in which case all ten picks will get 5.5 points.

GNMD = General Non-Metal Discussion, so NO UNAMBIGUOUSLY METAL ALBUMS are to be included in anybody's list.

Does Rage Against the Machine count? I consider them metal, but they’re not on Metal Archives. Also, what about Tool?

We've already done the metal polls for the given years, so I think what's eligible here should be anything you excluded from your considerations for not being metal enough there. I guess if you just overlooked them unknowingly then it could be a bit of a grey area.

Did a quick search, doesn't seem like anybody listed Tool in the 1996 metal thread but @zabu of nΩd listed R.A.T.M. so at least that can be excluded here.

    Placebo - Placebo

Not a super inspiring year tbh, don't even see much worthy of a to-check-out/honorary-mentions list. Skimmed the RYM top 500 to see what I had neglected to rate and only came upon Placebo. Should probably give the relevant Weezer, Belle and Sebastian, Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Sleater-Kinney albums all another shot just so I can fairly give them really shit ratings.

    Fuck no.

I could understand if you weren't into hip hop but you listed OutKast. Not into any other '96 rap besides that album?
