Should be a vulgar display of liquor!
Can't wait to see them. Have tickets for March 8 here.
Loudest show I have ever been to - Motorhead, front row right in front of Phil Campbell's amps, the Agora Ballroom in Hartford, CT back in the 80's. Damn near blew my head off and probably caused permanent hearing loss. One of my all time favorite gigs. Enjoy!
Ear plugs check
And awaaaay we go
SNAKE EYES WATCHIN YOU!
MAAAAN what a night!
Valient Thorr kicked it off and quickly won the crowd over. There was a lyric in the song "Infinite Lives" that stuck with me:
They don't believe in your religion,
They don't believe in your space,
They only believe in your money,
When they're wiping it all over their face.
Fuck yeah... And it was delivered with full on authority.
Got to meet Valient Himself and had a few drinks while he chowed down some chili fries:
BEARD OF DOOM
VERY energetic performance from these guys. Not real familiar with them but I'd definitely see them again.
And Val is one weird dude. Kept asking me if I've ever played Ms. Pac Man (wtf?!?)
Clutch was next and totally pwned the crowd. Whoever picked the set list needs a medal of honor cuz they literally played one "hit" from every album they have... and they kicked off with Elephant Riders. Fuck yes they did. Shogun Named Marcus, Big News, Mob Goes Wild, Pure Rock Fury, 50,000 Unstoppable Watts, and on and on... And anyone who didn't know was quickly notified via the crowd of fans that Clutch are bigger than Elvis 'round these parts.
Motorhead was unbelievably loud which was expected. My ears are ringing still even though I had plugs in.
Although, Lemmy is starting to show his age (65) a little.
Only when he'd speak to the crowd though. Couldn't help but feel like I was hearing one of those old dudes that sit at McDonald's drinking coffee all morning complaining about whats wrong with everything in the world.
Kicked off with "We Are Motorhead" and wrapped up with "Ace of Spades" playing something old/new everywhere in between.
I can still hear the chants of "Lemmy is God" in my head.
Definitely the best show I've seen in years.
Seems like Austin sucking up, but whatever. Should be a great show tomorrow.
