good emo (Luminous Aether are you out there)

    theres always a big hoohar about 'what emo is' i couldnt tell you what it is exactly or what makes it emo and not punk....people have said to me that its post hardcore, along the vain but far more melodic - but someone said to me the other night that its pre hardcore...
    i couldnt give a fuck either way like.

    Emo stands for Emotional Hardcore, but it has such a convoluted timeline the term is devoid of all meaning except in its original context in the mid-to-late 80's Washington DC hardcore scene.

    If you're interested in learning more about the 'genre', I'd suggest downloading a few MP3s from all the different waves/scenes/trends over the years and forming your own picture of the music. That'll be the closest thing to clarity you'll get.
