    Azumanga Daioh is woderful! Osaka is certainly one of the best anime-characters ever!

    And of course it has to be seen subtitled and with the original audio - the non-Japanese anime-dubs are generally very bad and especially a series with several language-related jokes ("bleh-desu") as Azumanga needs to be seen with someone fluent enough in Japanese, who can actually tell you what the jokes mean. I have seen some fansubs of the series with excellent commentary running at the top of the screen explaining many of the cultural and linguistical features of the show.
