@Enmity: Sweet deal on the 1960/6505! I'll be picking up a 6505 very soon and running the same setup!

And New Trivium song sounds pretty cool! The first groovy lick is kinda to core breakdown riff cliche for me, but the badass sounding slide at the beginning of it makes up for it haha.

    Also Need opinions:

Purple, Orange, Red or Black Quilt?
Im leaning towards purple or red, the black is very cool but I have a black flame top guitar and I want something diff

I already got something, but thanks :) I'll check it out.

Dude, are you going on the 70,000 tons cruise? You're already in Florida, you might as well! http://www.70000tons.com/home.htm

I had actually thought about, but that shit is so expensive :/ I have a few friends who have all talked about throwing some money together and doing it, but that shit is like $1000 per person if not more I think.

@ Lowberg: My initial reaction says purple, but the red seems pretty nice too. Orange would be a pretty oldschool choice, so only get that if you're really up for that. And I agree with getting variety, so I wouldn't go for black either. I don't think you could go wrong with your leaned-toward choices of purple or red, but purple would probably be something I personally wouldn't get as tired of. Hot colors like red tend to get old and/or lose their spark to me after a while *shrug*

Never really liked the ultra thin necks on Ibanez guitars.
But for colors, I'm really liking the red one.
But as Eveningninja said, "follow your heart".

Here is a demo song Attila Voros from Nevermore wrote: http://media.soundcloud.com/stream/YmT2qPyYZH4E
It has a lot of good riffs, and sounds like a Nevermore song. Now that Jeff has left the band, do you think Attila could replace him as the main songwriter? I wish the band would finally do an interview and put the issue to rest.

Normally I'd prefer purple(Purple is cool.), but I don't like that particular shade of purple much. It would perhaps look better as a burst. I'd go for the red model out of those.
They're all pretty bonerific though.. Follow your dick

My friend that went last year said it was the best experience of his life. He was willing to sell his kidney to pay for it again this year, haha. But yeah, I'm booked. So is Alex and we gotta pay even more than you cuz we gotta buy plane tix to get over to Miami. Anyway, it'd be cool if you decided to go too.

oh and rumor has it that Bodom will most likely be on board for this one.

A couple of my friends went and loved it and they're from Aus.

It doesn't always come to us so we have to travel a bit for our Metal and many of us do.

Enmitty...glad you finally got your rig and you are loving it. Sounds like you are gonna be very happy with it.

Lowberg.....if I were going to get one of those I would get the orange one...I mean its fucking orange.....it awesome. Don't see too many orange guitars these days.

As for the metal cruise......to me it sounds like it would only be fun if you were a single male. I just imagine a cruise ship full of smelly guys looking to get drunk and get laid. What I don't see is a very big female crowd on a boat like this. I could be wrong, but it sounds like a total sausage fest. Plus I know my pale ass would be sun burnt after the first day.

    Welcome to Metal.

The only time Metal wasn't a sausage fest was during the Glam era.

There are a few girls on the cruise.... probably there trying to get with the band members.

    Hey recording/software fags!

I need some help in getting some stuff. Basically I'm getting a new computer for graduation/18th birthday, and my dad has basically left it up to me what kind of software/gear I want. So what I want to get out of this is; cost effective recording for all styles of music (I play a lot of jazz, classical stuff, but metal too), also I really need some software that can help me transcribe my music fast, and a program with sounds/patches to my disposal, like a symphony in a box kind of thing. Honestly I've never really done my own recording at all, so I'd love stuff that's easy to grasp and I can tinker with for the summer. The music school I'm going to has professional studio so I don't really plan on going all out anytime soon, just want to tinker and be able to hear my music in all of it glory :0

oh, ideally i'd want one of those all-in-one kind of packages, with monitors, interface, mic, software...etc. but i'm open to buying things individually if it works out better

Symphony in a box: East West's stuff
Transcribe shit? Fuck if I know, Guitar Pro, Sibelius.

I think Sibelius would be a lot faster since you know your way around notation already. Guitar Pro only really "shines" as a composition software for guitarists who primarily think in tablatures, but it has regular notation too, and it's the one I use since I've used it for years now. Old habit eyh. Give both a spin, I'm sure there are demos to try out.

This is a good deal for samples of various kind, pick and mix from various packs. But even with the 75% off, it's pretty steep for just messing around I guess. Throwing it out here regardless.

I can testify to both Reaper and Sibelius being solid software.
