This round will get 7 days because I am uploading two rounds at once.

When voting, please keep in mind this is about the guitar tone. Some have louder guitars than others. No extreme differences though. Some files were submitted with master bus changes. These were disqualified. Some files were submitted with a much louder backing track. These too were disqualified. All the uploaded files here have been checked, but it may be that we missed a mistake. If you hear that someone didn't follow the rules let Anssi and myself know.

Without further delay, here are the 7 contestants for round eight.

    8C: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1010558/comp3 mp3s/8C.mp3

If you recognise your own work, please keep it to yourself. Usernames will be made public in the end. Please place your vote, and post in the thread with your reasoning!

All uploaded files are 320kbps mp3s. Note that this round starts with 8C due to previous disqualification. There is also no 9B due to disqualification.

8E for me. I found it most balanced, the rest are either boomy, boxy, cloudy and most of them are too damn loud to be a mix.

I think I won't vote for this round. I liked no tone from it. 9C wasn't that bad but was way too loud anyway.

8C for me. The guitars sound compact and fit the song very well.

    8C - too thin
    8D - too boxy
    8E - nice.
8F - nice as well, but not that good.
    8G - too much cardboard.
9A - way too much mids, in a weird region.
9B - not that bad, but still not there.

8F here. Sure it was way too loud, but the guitar tone was great.

Vote count seems to be dropping after every round, may I say much too participants? I think this makes it kind of repetitive and it gets boring to vote. Perhaps next time there should be a limited amount for the people participating?

Maybe it would help if all the rounds were posted at once.

I think it would get even more tedious to vote. Honestly, I am getting tired of voting, and the rounds are enough spaced one another. And I gotta say I HATE the 3 seconds of silence in the beginning of the tracks, hahaha

Aren't you aligning them in a projects and using mute/solo? Comparing otherwise sucks.

IMO 8E sounds pretty thin...I wonder why all guitar tones so far just doesnt sound good. Maybe the problem is in the riffs or in the guitar...

^ or it seems thin because the rest of the tracks are really loud? I get you though, I was expecting to like a lot more tones, so far it's been between 0 and 2 tones per round.
