I need to find some good metal bands to listen to, but I'm having difficulty finding good stuff to listen to.. Soooo What I'm asking is a few recomendations for you to give me.. Anything that you might consider good..

To those who want to know what I listen to, heres a list of what bands I like in no particular order.

    Anthrax
    Static X
    Slipknot
    Sirenia
    Tristania
    Opeth
    Katatonia
    Stone Sour
    Godsmack
    System of A Down
    Tool
    A Perfect Circle
    Lacrimosa
    Korn
    Coal Chamber
    SoilWork
    Symphony X

Yeah the list might seem short but like I say, I'm a complete metal newb  I like clean and raspy/dirty vocals.. Anything you could recommend would be greatly apreciative. Thx

Cryst, you've got to be joking. It's okay though. I'm sure many have tread your path before...-_-

Listen to Grave Digger, Arghoslent, Torture Squad, Chakal, old Fates Warning.
    Okay, I'm adding some more:
    Kreator (JP just reminded me)
    Overkill
    Ulysses Siren
    Demoniac
    GBK
    Heathen

First thing, take the cd's from the following bands

    Anthrax
    Static X
    Slipknot
    Stone Sour
    Godsmack
    System of A Down
    Tool
    A Perfect Circle
    Korn
    Coal Chamber

    AND THROW THEM AWAY.

Then go buy some Watchmaker, Gorerotted, Dying Fetus, Ensiferum, Children of Bodom, Onward, Blind Guardian, Insomnium, Samael, Graveworm and more that don't suck.

Don't forget In Flames. Although pre-00's In Flames is twenty times better than their new stuff.

    Also, check out these bands:

    Ministry
    Entombed
    Fireball Ministry
    At the Gates
    The Haunted
    Black Label Society
Children of Bodom (as mentioned before)
    Dimmu Borgir
    Evergrey
    Green Carnation
    In the Woods
    Immortal Souls
    Into Eternity
    Kalmah
    Killswitch Engage
    Cannae
    3 Inches of Blood
    Mercyful Fate
    Nightrage
    Opeth (as mentioned before)
    Type O Negative

Hope you like any of them!

I gotta agree with Children of Bodom, I'd wager you'll like them a fair bit. Also, all the classic bands, i.e. Priest, Maiden, Sabbath, etc. etc.

Emperor, Windir, Dismember, Sanctuary, Enslaved, Morbid Angel, etc. . .

I strongly recommend that you listen to the classic bands first, especially the ones that JP listed. Good luck! :headbang:

Start with Black Sabbath albums - go by chronological order. You can't lose.

Keep the Tool, Opeth and Katatonia.

    I suggest these;
Agalloch, Dark Tranquiltity, Death, Mastodon, Meshuggah, My Dying Bride, Novembre.
(I'd get the ones in bold first).
